  • To receive compensation, request the school’s Surety Bond.
    1. Use this link: https://www.dot.nm.gov/contact-us/inspection-of-public-records/ipra-requests/
        • For description of request include a description similar to:
          I am having issues with _________(Name of School) in ______ (Location) a driving school under the authority of the Traffic Safety Division of the NMDOT. I am requesting a copy of the Surety Bond information for _________(School Name).
    2. Wait to receive the bond.
    3.  Once Received, make a claim.
      • The bond will have the company’s name, phone number, email, or website to contact in order to make a claim.
      • Important items to include with your claim: School Name, Enrollment dates, School Closure date, What part of the course is completed/missing, Fees paid to school, Student contract, Fees paid to the new school. 

 

  •  Register At A New Driver’s Ed School
    • Another In-person Driver’s Ed
      • Fees are rearranged with the new Driver’s Ed school

      • Student must start as a ‘brand new’
    • Correspondence School (56-hours)
      • This option is only available to those who qualify.
